The 3002 Rainlogger is designed for use with Levelogger Software and most standard tipping-bucket rain gauges, with a reed switch output. The rainfall level per sampling period and a five-minute maximum rainfall are logged in a non-volatile memory, with up to 40,000 readings. Linear sampling can be set from 5 min to 99 hours.

The Rainlogger resolution is dependent on the rain gauge used, but is typically from 100 to 200 µm (0.004 to 0.008 in). Logged data can be downloaded direct to a PC or to a hand-held Leveloader Gold. The Rainlogger has a 10-year battery, optional SDI-12 protocol to interface with third-party data recorders, and is compatible with Solinst telemetry systems.
