The sturdy design, stretch-resistant tape and special markings in feet and tenths of feet (now 1/100 ths) proved ideal. The Meter gained in popularity and soon became the Water Level Meter of choice for American groundwater monitoring.Since then hard work and determination has enabled SOLINST to offer a broad range of innovative and practical hydrogeological equipment. The SOLINST product line is ideal for site characterizations, spill investigations, and long-term ground water monitoring.Behind the full range of SOLINST high quality groundwater monitoring instruments is the cumulative expertise of experienced hydrogeologists, geotechnical engineers, manufacturing & electronic professionals and technicians.Commitment to ResearchAt SOLINST, we place great importance on our ability to ensure a steady improvement in the product line and to continually develop up-to-date instrumentation for hydrogeological applications. Therefore research and development is a continual process. As part of this commitment, SOLINST has developed strong links with the Waterloo Centre for Groundwater Research, at the University of Waterloo and other institutes. This affords an excellent opportunity to combine the latest research with the technical know how and field experience of SOLINST engineers, professionals and technicians.SOLINST premises are 24,000 sq. ft. on 4 acres of land and includes test wells of up to 8" in diameter by 335' deep for product developement and demonstrations. The SOLINST manufacturing facilities include CAD/CAM design equipment, a state of the art CNC advanced turning centre, plus conventional lathes and milling machines. Only non contaminating coolants are used to cut parts, and all machined parts are cleaned in a 3 stage cleaning and rinsing process using deionised water. A careful quality control program for all manufacturing and assembly processes completes the environment in which SOLINST instrumentation is manufactured.Company GrowthFrom the beginning, SOLINST has been and remains the market leader in Water Level Meters. SOLINST has steadily introduced a series of new instruments, including the Levelogger. For profiling wells, SOLINST has developed Temperature and Conductivity Profilers which easily attach to any Model 101 Water Level Meter fitted with a P4 Environmental Probe.A variety of ground water samplers offers both dedicated and portable systems such as: bladder, submersible, and gas drive pumps. The SOLINST Portable Grundfos Redi-Flo2 system is rugged, very compact and easily portable. Sampling systems are also available with straddle of single packers. For applications with LNAPL or DNAPL hydrocarbon contamination, SOLINST developed Oil/Water Interface Meters and a Discrete Interval Sampler which can obtain a representative groundwater sample from below oil layers, or a DNAPL sample from the bottom of a well.SOLINST has also developed a range of direct-push equipment which includes inexpensive narrow diameter well points for continued monitoring, and the Drive-Point Profiler® which can take multiple uncontaminated samples from each drive of the casing.Level Measurement Enters New Era!SOLINST has come full circle in the "Level Measurement" field. The MODEL 3001 LEVELOGGER is a 7/8" dia. combined datalogger and pressure transducer in one self-contained probe, used for the automatic recording of water levels. It is easy to use, with amazingly easy software. Infra-red data transfer eliminates the need for electrical cable; reduces costs; avoids electrical interference, has a warranty against power surges, and is easily cleaned and decontaminated. It is also very easily trasported because it is light weight and requires no special documentation for shipping. The LEVELOGGER is factory sealed in a stainless steel housing with a 10 yr battery. Not only is the LEVELOGGER tamper resistant, but it can be fully suspended in a well, out of sight and reach of vandals. The LEVELOGGER can store 16,000 measurements per session, and will not over-write data. The FUTURE START capability of the LEVELOGGER enables measurements to be taken simultaneously in different areas with multiple units.Solinst Commitment to Quality and ServiceUsers of Solinst equipment include: consultant hydrogeologists, environmental engineers and geotechnical engineers; government environmental regulators, department of environment, energy, water supply, army, airforce and navy; mines, well drillers, landfill and hazardous waste site operators; industrial companies storing and using potentially hazardous chemicals and materials, and groundwater or surface water researchers. The SOLINST staff is dedicated to providing these customers with a wide variety of high quality instruments and top quality service. The knowledgeable sales and technical staff and the skilled machinists are able to provide instrumentation for virtually any application. SOLINST aims to provide hydrogeologists worldwide with the best in groundwater monitoring instrumentation.SOLINST produces reliable stock items routinely, yet maintains the capability to manufacture specialized items to suit particular needs. The practical and easy-to-use intrumentation allows users the means to obtain the detailed, accurate data required for high calibre hydrogeological investigations.Back to the Solinst Main Web SiteSolinst Canada Ltd.
