Peristaltic Pump Battery Clip Replacement

Tools and Materials Needed

1. Battery Clip (Red) (Set of 10) (#111797)
2. Battery Clip (Black) (Set of 10) (#111798)
3. 1 ft. 1/4″ Inner Melt Heat Shrink (#104115)
4. Wire Cutters/Scissors and Wire Strippers
5. Pliers and/or Screwdriver
6. Soldering Iron and Wire
7. Heat Gun

Instructions

1. Cut off the old battery clips right at the heat shrink.

   

2. Strip the black and the white wires by about 5/8″.
3. Pull off one of the red grips and one of the black grips from the new clips. Slide the red grip onto the white wire, and the black grip onto the black wire. Push them out of the way.
4. Cut off two 1.5″ long pieces of the 1/4″ inner melt heat shrink, and slide one onto each wire. Push the heat shrink out of the way.

5. Slide the white wire into position in the new red clip handle. Ensure that stripped wire is showing on either side of the rounded clamp. See the photo below for proper positioning.

6. Use the end of the pliers or a screwdriver to apply pressure to the rounded clamp until it is securely clamped to the stripped wire.
7. Use the pliers to close the two tabs on the clip handle around the white wire.

8. Repeat steps 5, 6, and 7, using the black wire and black clip.
9. Solder the white wire to the red clip at the rounded clamp. Ensure there is a good pool of solder, and that solder is visible in the opening on the opposite side of the clip handle.

10. Repeat step 9 with the black clip.
11. Slid the pieces of heat shrink up to the new clips, and position as shown in the photo. Apply heat using the heat gun.

12. Slid the grips over the heat shrink and onto the handles of the new clips.
